For the last 32 years, the Golden-Field RCMP has held an annual charity golf tournament to raise money primarily for High School Bursaries. Occasionally the tournament raises enough money that the committee is able to make donations to other important charities within the community of Golden.

On September 25, 2017 the Golden-Field RCMP Charity Golf Tournament committee presented $2,100 to support Breakfast Club programs in Golden elementary schools. This program is coordinated by Community LINK Student Support Worker Kim Mar and provides healthy food to children who attend Alexander Park, Lady Grey and Nicholson Elementary schools. With this program, any child who comes to school hungry is able to receive a nutritious snack to help them thrive at school.

In March 2016, the Golden-Field RCMP Golf Committee donated $5,000 to the Golden and District Regional Hospital.

The Golden-Field RCMP hope to continue to host the Golf Tournament each year to raise money for the community of Golden. The tournament is traditionally held the first Monday of June each year. It is the support and sponsorship of local businesses and residents which makes this event such a success each year!

If you wish to support the Breakfast Club you can contact Kim Mar at kim.mar@sd6.bc.ca. For information on how to sponsor or play in the golf tournament, contact Sharon Pearson at the Golden-Field RCMP Detachment at 250-344-2221.
