The Golden Secondary School track and field team has completed another successful season.

Competing in a field with 260 athletes, the team had many personal bests and ribbon placements in Cranbrook at the Zone Championship on Tuesday, May 14.

Outstanding performances by athletes who placed first in their fields included Robert Caldwell for 110-metre hurdles, Kjell Osborne for race walk, Matthew Dawes for 400 metre, and Georgia Gale for 800-metre hurdles.

The track and field team has been to a number of competitions, including the Battle of the Border track and field meet in Kamloops at the end of April.

Over the course of the season, they have competed against hundreds of athletes from across B.C., Alberta, Washington, and beyond.

At the Battle of the Border, the team competed at Hillside Stadium, a top-notch facility in Kamloops.

Exceptional sportsmanship for the season was demonstrated by Georgia Gale, Adam Archibald, and Sean Morris.

The team is excited to compete next year and continue to improve.
