Anyone who has ever attended a concert and wanted to be a part of the band is in for a treat with Key City Theatre’s newest show.
SAMAJAM is a “family experience like no other,” according to Siobhan Staplin, marketing director for Key City Theatre. It is referred to as “the world’s best participatory music show” and it will be coming to Cranbrook on January 21 at 6 p.m. for one night only.
What makes the SAMAJAM show so unique is that each audience member receives a bag full of percussion instruments when they arrive to the show and are encouraged to play along. They are given lessons in music fundamentals like rhythm, the melodic scale, world beat and more.
“With 80 per cent active participation time, you create music, songs and games right along with the high-energy performers,” Staplin explained.
The show has been performed more than 1,200 times all over the world over the past fifteen years and has been a big success.
Tickets for the show are $15 and are available either at the Key City Theatre Box Office or online at Keycitytheatre.com.
