Grand Forks and Christina Lake males amongst three arrested for home invasion

Three males were arrested and charged with "robbery with violence" after a home invasion in Grand Forks on June 15.

On June 15, 2:01 a.m., police were called to a home invasion robbery on 68th Avenue in Grand Forks.

Police attended and determined that three people wearing masks and bandanas woke up two people sleeping in a camper behind a residence on 68th Avenue.

The three masked people had proceeded to smash all the windows on the camper and truck that it was on and demanded money.

“Apparently they were given a quantity of money by the people who were sleeping in the camper and they departed the scene,” said Grand Forks RCMP Staff Sgt. Jim Harrison.

Harrison noted that three males were subsequently arrested later that morning.

“A 27-year-old Grand Forks male, a 27-year-old male from Calgary, Alta., and a 27-year-old male from Christina Lake were all arrested and were charged with robbery with violence,” he said.

They have been released on bail at this point.
