At approximately 7.00am in the area of Lochside Drive and Bakerview Place in North Saanich, a bus driver was the victim of a serious assault. He suffered injuries to his face. The passenger who is suspected of assaulting him fled on foot, holding a duffel bag. The suspect is described as thin, with a moustache or goatee beard, dark hair and wearing a white shirt under a chequered coat. He is believed to use BC Transit and travel the same route every day.
A BC Transit Communications employee said “We are giving the driver support and our top priority is the safety of our drivers and customers”. She declined to give further information as the incident is now an active RCMP investigation.
