You’re invited to join the leader of the Green Party of B.C. when she visits Courtenay this month.

Jane Sterk and the Comox Valley Consistency Association of the Green Party of B.C. are hosting an information meeting on the Green Party of B.C. for people in the Comox Valley who are interested in hearing more about the Green Party, asking questions of Sterk directly, and getting involved with the Green Party of B.C. at the local level.

Due to recent events in the provincial Liberal and NDP parties, people across the province have been looking for more ways to get involved with the party and help get Greens elected, they say in a news release.

The Green Party of B.C. is a viable alternative to the same old style of politics that we have been offered for the last 15 years. Check out www.greenparty.bc.ca.

After the more general informational meeting, Greens will ask anyone who is interested in getting active at the local level to stay for an organizing meeting where door and street canvassing strategies and other outreach options will be discussed that will let people of the Comox Valley know they have a choice and a voice in our democracy.

The gathering happens Jan. 15 from 2 to 4 p.m. Doors open at 1:30 in the Lower Rotary Hall at the Filberg Centre in Courtenay. — Green Party
