The Green Party of BC has announced its Cariboo-Chilcotin candidate for the May 14 provincial election.
Dustin Price has been confirmed by the Green Party of BC and Elections BC as the new candidate for the local riding.
A resident of 100 Mile House, he has lived in the region for more than 20 years and has strong family roots in the area.
Price currently works in the forest industry, volunteers with the 100 Mile & District Minor Hockey Association and the Youth Zone, and mentors young athletes in the region.
He says his major focus is in involving everybody in the decision-making process, youth included.
The Green candidate adds he believes in fighting for the establishment of a strong, diversified, stable community and regional economy, while being environmentally and socially responsible.
Forum tomorrow
Hear what Price has to say on the hot-button topics, along with the three other Cariboo-Chilcotin candidates identified to date, at the upcoming All-Candidates Forum.
The other candidates include B.C. Liberal Donna Barnett, NDP Charlie Wyse and Independent Gary Young.
All four local candidates in the riding will speak and answer questions from the public at the forum, which takes place in the Valley Room behind The Lodge tomorrow (April 18) from 6 to 8 p.m.
Ralph Fossum will be the moderator.
Doors open at 5:30 p.m., so be sure to get there in time to secure a good seat to hear each candidate address the pressing issues in the riding and the province.
Folks are encouraged to e-mail their questions in advance to manager@southcariboochamber.org, or drop them in the mail slot at South Cariboo Chamber of Commerce (on Fourth Street next to the district office).
If time permits, written questions submitted at the door will also be asked.
