Mayor Linda Hepner will be on hand to officially break ground at the site of the future Forsyth Park in City Centre this Friday.
The planned 7.5-acre park, as 10635 140 St., will include the 1.5 acre TD Nature Play Area, a dog off-leash area as well as picnic areas and pathways.
“When completed, the park will serve as the primary gathering space in the neighbourhood,” according to a release.
The play area is being funded by TD Bank Group with a $500,000 gift in commemoration of Canada’s 150th birthday.
This donation to the City of Surrey is one of seven major TD-funded projects across Canada this year in which green spaces will be revitalized to serve as a lasting legacy for future generations.
