Parts of Five Corners downtown Chilliwack was transformed the fictional small town of Harrington as film crews shot a movie last week and this week.
The production is part of the Hallmark Movies & Mysteries series of films, this one called The Chronicle Mysteries.
The lead is Alison Sweeney who is most known for her role on soap opera Days of Our Lives.
“‘The Chronicle Mysteries’ stars Alison Sweeney as Roberta ‘Robbie’ McPherson a novelist and podcaster who’s researching the cold case of Gina DeSavio,” according to a March 21 press release from the production company, Crown Media Family Networks. “Robbie loves the chase, loves solving any puzzle or mystery. She is particularly interested in Gina’s disappearance because Robbie and Gina knew each other as children growing up in a small town. Robbie is also Miles Lawrence’s niece, the owner of the local paper the Harrington Chronicle, and she’s about to inherit the paper.”
“Each of our new franchises have great hooks and engaging amateur sleuths to draw in viewers who love to solve a great mystery as the story unfolds,” said Michelle Vicary, Crown Media’s executive vice-president for programming and network publicity.
This is the second time Hallmark has filmed in downtown Chilliwack in recent months.
In November, a crew was downtown for a Christmas production.

Downtown Chilliwack BIA executive director Kyle Williams said the crews were mostly filming indoors with some outside scenery shots.
Some parking (mostly private) lots are being used, but the impact on traffic was expected to be minimal.
On Tuesday, parts of the sidewalks on Young Road and Yale Road beside the building on the south corner of Five Corners were blocked off.
The unoccupied building had a sign put up that said “Harrington Sheriff’s Office.”
