The long-anticipated master plan for parks and trails in the Municipality of North Cowichan is finally complete, and the community is invited to offer any final comments at a meeting on July 7.
The municipality has spent the last seven months developing a comprehensive parks and trails master plan that will provide a clear direction for the future development and management of its parks and trails resources.
Key stakeholders and community leaders have been providing input on their vision for park and trail management and Stantec, the technical consultant for this project, has also completed an inventory of park and trail resources in North Cowichan and their current state.
In April, North Cowichan invited the whole community to get involved and hosted three community meetings to share the preliminary vision for parks and trails.
The meeting on July 7, which will be held in North Cowichan’s council chambers from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., will be drop-in style, and includes a presentation of the master plan at 5 p.m.
