Time to bust out your rain boots – Environment Canada has issued a rainfall warning for the Parksville Qualicum Beach area.
The alert warns of a Pacific frontal system bearing down on the south coast of B.C., including the east side of Vancouver Island between Nanoose Bay and Fanny Bay.

The warning went into effect the morning of Monday, Jan. 6.

Heavy rain is expected to continue through Tuesday (Jan. 7) morning, and ease later on Tuesday afternoon. A total of 60 to 90 millimetres of rainfall is expected within this time.
According to Environment Canada, heavy downpours can cause flash floods and water pooling on roads. Keep an eye out for localized flooding in some low-lying areas.
