Sunday could be a wet one in Nanoose Bay.
Environment Canada issued a rainfall warning for Sunday, Jan. 28, for areas of the mid Island from Nanoose Bay to Fanny Bay.
“Rain, at times heavy, is expected,” the warning reads, noting that the moisture-laden frontal system will bring rain early Sunday morning intensifying that night; 50-70 millimetres of rain are forecasted to fall before Monday.

Motorists are also asked to drive with caution.
The Regional District of Nanaimo issued an advisory on its website Saturday noting that it expects Environment Canada could update its special weather statement to a flood watch or flood warning.
“Please be advised that there is a significant risk of localized flooding in areas that normally experience flooding. Further, there is a risk of landslides in areas that are prone due to heavily saturated soils,” the RDN website shows.
