There will be one fewer lane for motorists on sections of Highway 19 as contractors perform maintenance work on the median until the end of November.
According to the Ministry of Transportation, a $490,000 project to do repairs and remove unwanted organic material from the median began earlier this month, roughly from between French Creek Bridge and exit 60 near Qualicum Beach and the start of Highway 4.
Expected to be completed by the end of November, portions of the northbound passing lane of the highway will be closed. “Traffic control will be in place to direct traffic to the open lane,” according to an email from the ministry.
“Drivers are advised to watch for workers and obey all construction speed-limit signs of 60 km/h.
