UPDATE:
As of 1:55 p.m. Highway 97 has re-opened to single lane alternating traffic after a two-vehicle crash between Jacobson Drive and Airport Road earlier Friday. A detour is available from the Mountain House Road to the Likely Road.
As of 11:44 a.m. Drive BC is reporting a vehicle incident at Jacobson Road just north of Williams Lake.
Tribune readers said as of noon traffic was at a standstill.
Williams Lake RCMP Insp. Jeff Pelley said there was a two-vehicle crash involving a transport truck.
“There were minor injuries and the road should re-open in about an hour,” Pelley said around 12:15 p.m., noting the road is compact snow conditions.

Snow is falling in Williams Lake as the snowfall warning remains in effect for the region with higher snowfall amounts expected near the Cariboo Mountains.
On Thursday Environment Canada issued a snowfall warning for Quesnel and Williams Lake.

As of Friday morning, the Environment Canada’s forecast says to expect five to 10 centimetres in Williams Lake Friday.
According to DriveBC, Highway 20 and Highway 97 have compact snow, slippery sections and snow falling in many areas.
There are also slippery sections on the Horsefly Road and the Likely Road.
The combination of wind and snow may locally reduce visibility and drivers are urged to adjust their driving to changing road conditions.
So far BC Hydro is not reporting any outages for the Cariboo Chilcotin region while more than 3,500 customers in the Northern part of the province and on Vancouver Island are without power.
