The Trans-Canada Highway east and west of Golden reopened last night to allow traffic through, after accidents and avalanche control stopped traffic for hours on January 3.

An accident 3 kilometres west of Field has slowed traffic to a single alternating lane. Crews are on scene responding to the incident, which occurred around 7 a.m.

No other road closures are affecting the Golden area at this time. Highway 1 heading west is showing compact snow with slushy and slippery sections. Heading east, road conditions have compact snow with limited visibility, and possible delays heading into Field.
