RCMP remind motorists impaired driving is not restricted to only alcohol but also encompasses impairment by cannabis.
“The Christmas Season is a time of cheer, for parties and celebration,” says Chilliwack RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Mike Rail. “Be responsible and plan a safe way to get home.”
Tips to plan a safe trip home:
· Organize a designated driver program with family and friends.
· Plan ahead to travel by public transit or taxi.
· Stay overnight.
Beginning Nov. 30, Operation Red Nose offers another option for getting home safely. Available Fridays and Saturdays after 9 p.m. during the month of December, drivers can be reached at 604-393-3000. For information regarding the program visit the Operation Red Nose website.
