Workshops on building new, energy efficient homes are being held soon by Langley Township.

As the community grows and new homes are built, the Township is focused on raising awareness of the methods and benefits of energy efficient homebuilding.

“Building homes that are energy efficient reduces energy consumption costs, adds value to homes, and promotes a healthy environment,” said Josh Power, Township of Langley energy programs specialist. “It’s good for the environment and good for residents.”

To share and generate ideas on how to make energy efficient homebuilding a priority in the Township, two interactive, facilitated workshops will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 3. The events will take place at the Langley Events Centre, 7888 200 St., in Meeting Room B.

Session One, which will be open to home builders, developers, and renovators, will run from 2 – 4 p.m., and Session Two, for realtors and home buyers, will be held from 7 – 9 p.m.

“We would really like the public’s input during these dynamic, two-hour workshops,” Power said. “We encourage residents to join us, share their ideas, and make the workshops a success.”

Limited space is available. To RSVP, email Power at jpower@tol.ca.
