Hope Fire Department puts out workshop fire

The fire had spread into the forest.

Firefighters responded to a Jason Road structural fire on Wednesday just before 5 p.m.

According to Hope Fire Department fire chief Tom DeSorcy, they arrived and saw a workshop which had its roof on fire with fire spreading into the forest surrounding the property.

Hope Fire Department responded with two fire engines, one water tanker, a squad vehicle which contains compressed air foam, utility vehicle with the incident support unit in it. DeSorcy also attended with his vehicle.

Fire crews first put out the fire and protected other vulnerable areas such as a log home next to the burned structure, and ensured that there was no further spread of the fire to the forest.

The incident saw no injuries or deaths and the fire was dealt with in about two hours.
