The Hope Standard is once again a finalist for the annual Ma Murray Awards.
Hosted by the B.C. and Yukon Community News Media Association, the awards honour and celebrate the work of community journalists across the province for advertising, photography, writing and overall newspaper excellence.
The Hope Standard is a finalist for overall newspaper excellence for the third year in a row, in its circulation category. In the two previous years, the Standard came home from the ceremony with gold. The other two finalists in the Standard’s category are the North Island Gazette and the Salmon Arm Observer.
Overall, more than 20 Black Press Media journalists and publications are up for this year’s Ma Murray awards, including Paul Henderson and Jenna Hauck from the Chilliwack Progress.
The 2020 Ma Murray Awards will be presented at a gala event at the River Rock Casino Resort on April 25.
