The host Kelowna Heat finished strong to win the silver pool at the 2017 Spring Sizzle U14 B fastball tournament.
An all-star team comprised of players from Kelowna, West Kelowna, Penticton, Barriere and Cranbrook, the Heat defeated a team from Richmond 12-5 on Sunday in the gold medal game of the silver division.
The Heat won all of their playoff games Sunday at High Noon Park.
Kelowna lost two close games on the weekend, including one to the eventual gold pool tournament champs, the Richmond Islanders.
Great pitching and solid defence were the keys to the Heat’s success throughout the tournament.
Rep teams from the Lower Mainland, Prince George and Calgary, competed at the weekend tourney.
