Hotel Kimberley has installed a live cam of the main intersection in Kimberley, allowing residents to see real-time footage of the conditions at our only stoplight.

“We wake up in the morning, look out the window of our Hotel and are always in awe at the fantastic views that we are so privileged to enjoy,” said hotel owner, Anthony Edwards. “For us, the views are particularly special through the winter months when everything is blanketed in snow. Growing up in a dry country like Australia, this is what we always imagined a true ski town would look like.”

He adds that the inspiration to install the camera was to be able to share their daily view from the hotel with family and friends.

“We were looking for a way to share the view with our family and friends and a still photo just doesn’t let you feel the vibe of life in our beautiful City,” said Edwards. “Putting a live camera on the building seemed to be a great way to let others enjoy what we do when they can’t be here in person.”

Plus, locals and tourists who want to see what the weather is like downtown can check it any time.

“Lots of our friends around Kimberley love the idea of being able to see whats going on downtown from their laptop or phone, and with tourists being the majority of our clientele in the hotel, its a great way to help them see what they’re missing and hopefully entice them to come for a visit.”

The link to the live camera is available on the Hotel Kimberley Facebook page and it will be available soon on their website (www.hotelkimberley.ca). For a direct link to the live camera feed, visit https://video.nest.com/live/RfieFVAZcB

Edwards says, “At the end of the day, we live in a fantastic place that we are really proud of and its great to be able to share it with other people in a fun and easy way.”
