A large crowd gathered in LeBourdais park at 10 a.m. this morning (Sept 28) to recognize Orange Shirt Day.

A moment of silence was observed in front of the Residential School Survivors Monument and a couple First Nations survivors explained to onlookers what it was like being torn from their families at a young age.

Kids from many of the local schools were able to hear how fortunate they are to not have to endure the same suffering.

Those gathered walked around the downtown core before returning to the park for bannock and beverages.
