Police still need to speak with a man who helped an 86-year-old woman after she was mugged in mid-July.
Langley RCMP are renewing their plea to locate the Good Samaratian, who they feel could has “vital” information to assist in the investigation, said spokesperson Sgt. Alex Mulvihill.
The attack occurred Friday, July 14 on 56th Avenue, near 201A Street, at about 2:30 p.m.
The elderly woman, identified as Vera Caruk, has since died.
A 37-year-old Surrey woman, Tara Whitney, has since been charged with robbery and appears in court Oct. 2.
But police are still needing to talk with the man who offered assistance, Mulvihill emphasized.
“An unknown male stopped to offer assistance but did not remain to speak to attending officers,” she said. “This individual may have vital information to assist investigators through the court process.”
