Hwy 9 to close for train crossing upgrades in Agassiz this week

The crossing near the Agassiz Harrison Museum will be closed Jan. 12 and 13

Commuters through downtown Agassiz will need to detour around the Highway 9 rail crossing on Tuesday and Wednesday this week.

The Canadian Pacific Railway will be rehabilitating the at-grade crossing on Highway 9 in Agassiz, resulting in a closure of the highway beside the Agassiz-Harrison Museum.

Closures will be in effect between 6 a.m. and 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 12 and between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 13.

Traffic will be rerouted down Ashton Road and Pioneer Avenue for highway access. Expect delays.
