Okanagan Falls volunteer fire department responded to a car that slid into Skaha Lake on Thursday night.
Fire chief Rob Oliver said the driver was manoeuvring to avoid hitting a deer on East Side Road and the icy conditions led to the vehicle ending up in the water. He said both the driver, and the deer, were not injured in the incident.

“It is a reminder for everyone to be careful on that road in the winter conditions. It is a 50 kilometre per hour road anyways and I would recommend going 10 under the speed limit. Even if you are creeping along, you are going to get home around the same time and home safe,” said Oliver.
