An accident in Lake Country Wednesday where a truck ended up in a creek may result in impaired driving charges against the driver.
Police were called just before 11 p.m. Wednesday to the intersection of Edwards Road and Adams Road where paramedics were on-scene attending to the driver of a Dodge pickup, a 43-year-old Lake Country man.
He received injuries when his westbound Dodge struck a light pole at the intersection. The vehicle went down an embankment and landed in Mill Creek.
The RCMP investigation revealed that the driver showed signs of alcohol impairment and, though he was transported to Kelowna General Hospital for further treatment, he consented to provide blood samples for alcohol analysis at the hospital.
The driver may be facing recommended charges of impaired driving and driving with a blood-alcohol level of more than .08.
The light pole was bent at the base. The vehicle sustained significant damage and was towed from the scene.
