Impaired driving suspected in rollover collision

Police are investigating a 45-year-old Tappen woman after a single vehicle accident on the Trans-Canada Highway on Thursday, June 11.

Police are investigating a 45-year-old Tappen woman for impaired driving after a single vehicle accident on the Trans-Canada Highway near Second Nations Road on Thursday, June 11.

At 8:35pm, police responded to the call and discovered an eastbound vehicle with two occupants went off the road into the ditch rolling several times coming to a stop on its side.

The female driver was ejected from the vehicle and the male passenger was trapped inside and had to be extracted by the Salmon Arm Rescue Unit.

Both occupants were transported to hospital by ambulance with serious, but undetermined injuries.

RCMP reportĀ  female driver is now being investigated for impaired driving.

The Trans-Canada Highway was closed for close to an hour before being reopened to single-lane alternating traffic.
