A flowering crab will stand in memory of Casey Rahko, who passed away on the weekend of prom.
In her honour
The 2011 graduating class of Fort St. James planted a flowering crabapple tree in the school lawn in honour of their classmate Casey Rahko on Tuesday. After just celebrating their completion of high school, the students were mourning the loss of their classmate, who passed away on the weekend, sending the community into shock. Some words were said on behalf of the students and school as the tree was planted and Casey’s family said a few words and thanked the class for their gesture. The class then filed by the family with hugs of support.
