An Indian restaurant in Mission is asking its customers to drop off some food when they pick up their take out.

Sangam Restaurant and Catering is hosting a Holiday Food Drive for the St. Joseph’s Food Bank until Dec. 20. The restaurant will match any donations that are made.

“It’s the fulfillment of it. You feel so good doing something like that. It’s a nice selfless deed,” Deol said.

They are accepting drops offs at both their locations in Mission: 7871 Stave Lake Rd., and 32034 Lougheed Hwy.

People do not need to order food in order to drop off non-perishable items, they can come in during regular hours to make a donation.

Sangam is doing the same for it’s Chilliwack locations.

This is not the only donation effort the restaurant has made since the beginning of the pandemic. In March, they were providing 50 free meals a day to health-care workers, first responders and single-parent families and the less fortunate.
