There are potential funds on the table for local organizations focused on helping seniors.
Cloverdale-Langley City MP John Aldag said the Government of Canada’s New Horizons for Seniors Program (NHSP) “plays an important role in communities across Canada by supporting partnerships that provide older Canadians with a wide range of opportunities to get involved in local activities that address their needs and interests, and to share their knowledge and experience to the benefit of community members of all ages.”
Through NHSP, organizations may be eligible to receive a grant of up to $25,000 per year.
Since 2004, the NHSP has funded close to 21,600 projects in hundreds of communities across Canada.
Aldag said the program has made a significant difference in the lives of seniors in Canadian communities.
In order to help organizations prepare applications for the next Call for Proposals, the following information sessions have been scheduled:
• Langley –– May 18 from 1 to 3 p.m.

• South Surrey –– May 18, 2 to 4 p.m.
Location: Surrey South Service Canada Centre, 103-15295 Highway 10, Surrey
• North Surrey ––May 10 1:30 to 3:30 p.m.
