The District of Hope has published their plans for infrastructure maintenance which highlights the work they will carry out starting August.
They released the information on their website on July 12 which state that their planned upgrades include the following:
– Repaving of Sixth Avenue between Old Hope Princeton Way and Thacker Avenue;
– Replacement of approximately 30 metres of stormwater pipe adjacent to the Curling Rink;
– Repaving of Coquihalla Street between Water Avenue and Sixth Avenue;
– Reconstruction and upgrades to Rupert Street between Yale Avenue and Wardle Avenue;
– Repaving of 650 square metres of Othello Road immediately east of Nestlé Waters;
– Multiple patch repairs to Flood Hope Road, west of the Highway 1 overpass;
– Replacement of various concrete curb and sidewalk sections as well as the addition of new sidewalk to accommodate bus stop locations associated with the start of transit service in September;
– Cured-in-place pipe lining of a section of the main pipe that conveys sewage from the community to the Wastewater Treatment Plant;
– Various upgrades to mechanical and electrical components at the Kaw Road Sewage Pump Station in east Kawkawa Lake;
Those plans said that the upgrades were “selected based on condition assessments, immediate need and alignment with the District’s Asset Management Investment Plan (AMIP).” The AMIP brings together long-term costs and timing for systematic renewal of Hope’s infrastructure, according to the website.
Depending on available budget, the District might also repave Kawkawa Lake Road between Swallow Place and Lakeview Crescent.
“It is the intent that a robust paving program continue in the years to come in a focused effort to improve the overall condition of the District’s road network,” said the website.
