The helicopter long-line extraction team rescued an injured hiker on Sunday evening.

Kelvin Hall, PENSAR on duty manager, said friends of the injured man had a cell phone to reach out for assistance. Hall recommends anyone going into the woods to load the free Trailforks app — whether you are riding a mountain bike, hiking or four-wheeling.

“When we get an exact location of the injured subject it assists with a quick extraction to medical care and a quicker recovery,” he said.
