A truck driver was partially thrown from his rig in an accident on Highway 3, on June 20, and he claimed his seatbelt had not worked properly.
The driver hit the windshield with his back, breaking it as he fell to the pavement, according to RCMP Corporal Chad Parsons.
The man was taken to Princeton General Hospital to treat his injuries.
The accident occurred near Similkameen Falls when the 2001 Freightliner driver lost control of his truck. It crossed the centre line and the trailer hit an embankment on the side of the highway.
Both the tractor and trailer flipped, said Parons.
“It was windy and cloudy with periods of heavy rain.”
The trailer was carrying pallets of 2,000 glass bottles that were being shipped for laser etching.
