Pacific Institution in Abbotsford has reported that a long-time inmate died of natural causes on April 2.
Correctional Service Canada (CSC) stated that George Leslie Arthur Sedgwick, 89, had been serving an indeterminate sentence since March 1969 for “indecent assault male” and “acts of gross indecency.”
A previous news article indicated that Sedgwick is a child molester who was declared a dangerous offender and who, while in prison, was trading supplies from the prison store for sex with younger inmates.
CSC publicly reports inmate deaths once next of kin have been notified, and its policies require that the police and coroner be notified.
