Residents are invited to share their thoughts about the study conducted about parking at the South Okanagan Events Centre Aug. 28 at the Penticton Trade and Convention Centre.
The study is just one of four topics that will be discussed at the city’s open house from 4 to 7 p.m. Cannabis legalization, wastewater solids management, and modernization of the building bylaw will also be up for discussion.
Earlier this summer, the city shared the preliminary findings from the 2015 SOEC Parking Study with the public. Staff and council now have additional information, which can be reviewed on shapeyourcitypenticton.ca in advance of the open house.
“There have been lots of great discussions and suggestions about opportunities to maximize parking on site (at the SOEC) and in the area,” says Bregje Kozak, Recreation and Facilities Director. “The study is helping to fill in the gaps in the data so that we can properly consider all of the options.”
City staff invite anyone who missed the first open house on the subject to attend the upcoming meeting as it will be a chance to catch up on what’s been discussed to this point. Refreshments will be availble on location during the open house.
Anyone unable to attend the open house can share their feedback at shapeyourcitypenticton.ca starting Aug. 24.
