Intoxicated woman issued violation ticket
Oak Bay police responded to an intoxicated female at the intersection of Foul Bay Road and Cadboro Bay Road on Aug.27. The female was taken to a cell to sober up and was issued a violation ticket for being intoxicated in a public place.
Deer down
Police attended the 1000-block of Newport Avenue on Aug.29 for an injured deer. The two rear legs were broken and the deer was put down at the scene.
Break and Enter
There was a residential break and enter on Aug. 29 in the 1900-block of Crescent Road. The suspect smashed a ground level window and entered the unoccupied residence. Several rooms were ransacked and it appears that nothing was stolen. Surveillance video of the suspect was obtained and the investigation is ongoing to identify the man.
Theft from unlocked vehicle
A theft from vehicle complaint in the 2300-block of Pacific Avenue came in on Aug.29. The unlocked vehicle was parked on the street. The vehicle was rummaged through and the suspect stole several items including a blue buck hoodie, spare change and a Lowrance Hook 5 fish finder valued at $800.
Mental health calls
Two mental health calls which required an apprehension of both individuals against their will pursuant to the Mental Health Act occurred on Aug.31. The first call was at 6:05 a.m. and the second call was around 2:30 p.m. Both calls averaged about 3.5 hours liaising with mental health personnel.
Intoxicated man breaches no-drinking court order, makes mess of local business
A local business in the 2000-block of Oak Bay Avenue called in the police on Aug.31, for an intoxicated older man. The man had urinated and defecated in his pants. Police records showed he breached a court order not to consume liquor. The man was transported to cells to sober up and was issued a Promise to Appear for failing to comply with his recognizance and an Undertaking to stay away from the 2000-block of Oak Bay Avenue.
Vehicle and credit card stolen
On Aug.31, police responded to a theft of auto complaint in the 3600-block of Crestview Road. Sometime overnight the suspect was able to obtain the keys for the unlocked 2012 Ford 150 from another vehicle parked in their driveway. A few hours later the homeowner found his truck in the parking lot of Mt. Doug Park. The vehicle was seized for forensic identification purposes. The suspect also stole a credit card which was used at a local business where surveillance video is being obtained to identify the suspect.
Vehicles rifled through
Police responded to two overnight theft from autos in the 3600-block of Crestview Road on Sept.1. Both vehicles were unlocked and rifled through, however nothing was stolen.
Theft from vehicle
A third unlocked vehicle was entered overnight in the 2200-block of Pacific Avenue. The suspect stole about $20 in assorted change, Yakima rack keys, and Ray ban sunglasses.
