Golden Shotokan Karate travelled to Port Moody on March 9 for the International Shotokan Karate Federation of B.C. karate Tournament.

Sensei Tyler Tetrault, Isaac Tetrault, Jacob Tetrault, and Jackson Auclair all competed in the provincial tournament. Auclair competed as a green belt in his first provincials and took home a bronze in kumite (free style fighting). Jacob Tetrault, who just earned his black belt in January, took home a bronze mdeal in kata (forms) and a gold in kumite. Isaac Tetrault won a silver medal in kata and a gold in kumite, and was awarded the male provincial grand champion, bringing home a trophy that has never left the lower mainland.

These karate students competed with dignity and sportsmanship and their manners were worthy of mention by many senior karate judges in B.C. Videos of the events are on the ‘Golden Dojo’ Facebook page.
