A midnight crash in Nanoose Bay saw two people sent to hospital after one vehicle was reportedly travelling in the wrong direction on Highway 19.
Central Island Traffic members responded to a call just after midnight Firday morning (Jan. 11) “to a report of a head-on collision in the soutbound lande of Highway 19 just north of the intersection at Nanoose Bay (by the PetroCan) said Oceanside RCMP Staff Sgt. Marc Pelletier.
According to a report, he said “a southbound car had been struck by a northbound car travelling in the soutbound lane.”
The vehicles crashed head-on, with both drivers taken to hospital, he said.
Nanoose Volunteer fire chief Doug Penny said: “We had 15 guys out there. We did use the Jaws (of Life).”
