100 Mile House RCMP responded to 102 calls for service during the past week.
Some highlights are as follows:
Jewellery heist
On May 6, at approximately 4:30 a.m. a business alarm report was received.
The owner attended and found the front door pried and broken open.
Officers arrived a short time later, cleared the business and did not find anyone in or near the premises.
Several thousands of dollars of jewellery was stolen.
This incident occurred around 4:30 a.m. and police are asking for anyone that may have seen anything suspicious or have details to call the 100 Mile House RCMP.
Alcohol-impaired
On May 6, RCMP received a report of a person in the drivers seat asleep in a running vehicle parked in front of a local pub.
Witnesses turned the vehicle off for public safety.
Officers attended and suspected the male occupant to be impaired by alcohol and made a roadside screening demand.
A breath sample was obtained and found to be a “Fail” meaning the driver had more than 100 mg per cent alcohol in his blood.
He was issued a 90-day driving prohibition and provided a ride home.
Truck theft
On May 2, RCMP received a report of a vehicle being taken from a parking lot on the 800 block of Alder Ave.
Sometime overnight, a green 2000 Dodge pickup was taken.
Another stolen vehicle, a red Dodge Spirit which was reported stolen from Quesnel earlier was found in the same lot where the truck was taken from.
The Dodge pickup was subsequently located in Hope on May 3.
Marijuana seized
On May 1, Central Cariboo Traffic Services pulled a car over for making an illegal left turn.
During the stop, the smell of marijuana was noted.
The driver did not possess a Marijuana licence.
The marijuana was seized and the driver issued a violation ticket for the illegal turn and failing to display an “N.”
Graffiti
On May 1, RCMP received a report of paint graffiti to a business on the 400 block of Birch Ave.
A slogan had been painted on the wall.
