The Johnston Bridge Loop, north of the Quesnel River, is now closed due to annual flooding.
The Quesnel River is swollen due to the spring melt and a very large puddle has formed on the north side of the loop.
As of this weekend, traffic was being reduced to one lane and the City of Quesnel has closed it off completely as of Monday morning (June 3).
Commuters are asked to detour through the railway crossing.
Travellers crossing north towards downtown must turn right after the crossing, while travellers crossing south, must approach the railway crossing from Legion Drive.
