Kamloops police investigate pepper spray incident at school

Pepper-spray incident puts Valleyview Secondary School on lockdown in Kamloops

Three teenagers are being investigated by Kamloops RCMP for a pepper spray incident at a local school.

A vehicle in the parking lot of Valleyview Secondary School was peppers sprayed, Thursday afternoon. The school was briefly put on lock down while police attended the scene.

When officers arrived the suspect teens were gone but pepper spray could still be detected in the area.

The teens are not students of Valleyview Secondary School.

Police are investigating an incident that put a Kamloops high school on lockdown Wednesday.

Mounties said they were called about a “pepper-spray incident” involving youths from another school just after noon.

The school was placed on lockdown as a precaution.

A firetruck was seen leaving the school just before 1 p.m., but three police cars remained.

Students also appeared to be coming and going from the school unimpeded.
