The efforts of “Innovation Valley” are set to be recognized.
The tremendous wealth of talent and the enterprising spirit of the West Kootenay is open for nominations as the Kootenay Association for Science and Technology (KAST) presents its Spirit of Innovation Awards gala this September.
“The innovation, intellectual capital and entrepreneurship in our region is truly spectacular for a relatively small population,” said Kelvin Saldern, KAST executive director.
The awards are one way in which people can recognize local West Kootenay entrepreneurs and business’ achievements in the field of innovative new business ideas, he added.
People can nominate a local business or entrepreneur by Sept. 11.
Awards will be given out for Innovator of the Year, Innovative Company of the Year, Innovative Organization of the Year and Most Promising Emerging Company of the Year.
Winners will receive a quarter page profile in BC Business Magazine.
