RCMP located and recovered the $150,000 boat and trailer on June 24.
At 12:23 a.m. on June 20, Kelowna RCMP received a report of a boat and trailer stolen from Banner Recreation located on McCurdy Place in Kelowna. Video surveillance showed a suspect tow the boat and trailer away from the business shortly before 9:30 that morning.
“The Kelowna RCMP Prolific Offender Suppression Team hit the streets, worked extensively to develop leads and spent countless man hours on this investigation, which spanned multiple jurisdictions.
“As a result of contacts with several known prolific offenders in the Kelowna area and throughout the Southeast District, POST successfully tracked the stolen vessel to the Lower Mainland,” said Cpl. Jeff Carroll.
“Today (June 24), one of our partners from the RCMP in the Lower Mainland located and recovered the stolen vessel in the Abbotsford area,” Carroll added.
The boat, which appeared un-damaged and un-altered, was seized by the RCMP and turned over to a company affiliated with Banner Recreation in the Lower Mainland for arrangements for its eventual return to the Okanagan.
