Kelowna business evacuating after fire call

Emergency crews have responded to the Exit Kelowna business on Highway 97

Fire crews on scene report that a maintenance worker was doing repairs to the roof of the building and may have caused dust to be blown into the business, causing the fire department to be called.

Emergency crews have responded to a business on Highway 97 for a fire call.

Multiple vehicles responded to the business, called Exit Kelowna this afternoon after reports of a smoke-filled building with customers evacuating the site.

Five fire trucks are on scene while one witness tells the Capital News it could be a maintenance issue on the roof.

There is no smoke visible from outside the building.

The Capital News has a reporter to the area to investigate.
