Should Kelowna’s future public art focus on neighbourhood locations or downtown? What types of art should be supported? The City of Kelowna is encouraging residents to get involved and have their say on the future priorities of public art.
Starting today, residents are invited to provide input through the City’s online engagement tool at getinvolved.kelowna.ca. Online participants will be able to give their thoughts on public art priorities until Friday, Nov. 27.
Feedback from the Nov. 4 community discussion and input from the online engagement tool will be used to inform a three-year public art program plan. This plan will be brought to Council for consideration early 2016.
The City’s public art collection is home to more than 60 pieces that range from murals and banners to sculptures and works integrated into local streetscapes. These pieces help enliven our civic buildings and public spaces while enhancing Kelowna’s esthetic nature and strengthening its cultural identity.
