RCMP are turning to the public for assistance in identifying a theft suspect caught on video in May surveillance stealing money collected for children in need.
The Kelowna RCMP received a report May 22 at 10:06 a.m., of a theft of a donation receptacle box attached to the drive-thru window of the Tim Horton’s Restaurant located at 1694 Powick Road.
The thief was caught on one of the restaurants video surveillance cameras, at 2:01 am, as he walked up to the drive-thru window, and within a minutes time, forced the entire donation box off the wall before fleeing on foot.
The RCMP are now turning to the public for their assistance in positively identifying the suspect responsible for this senseless and shameful crime,
said Const. Jesse O’Donaghey, in a press release. The unknown amount of cash donations taken were destined to help turn a child’s life around, by sending a child in need in our community to camp.
The suspect is described as:
- A Caucasian male;
- 25 – 35 years of age;
- 5’8 – 6’0 tall;
- 180 – 210 lbs;
- Short hair, balding;
- Stocky build;
- Wearing a two toned grey hoodie, with white emblem, blue jeans and dark shoes;
