Police looking for man who allegedly stole a woman’s truck after she jumped from the moving vehicle

Kelowna RCMP were called to assist a woman who had jumped from a moving truck on Highway 33 near Black Mountain Road, at about 9:30 a.m.  June 26.

“The 32-year-old Kelowna woman alleged she had consented to allow a 47-year-old man from Grand Forks to drive her truck,  from a residence,  to drop himself off in Kelowna,  while she was a passenger,” said Sgt. Wade Seversen.

“Instead, the man drove towards Grand Forks despite her protest.  She crawled out of the passenger window while the truck was travelling about 30 KLM/hr on the highway. She sustained bruises and scrapes which did not require medical attention.”

Police are looking for her stolen is her 2005 blue Chevrolet Blazer with BC licence plate 678RFN

The suspects name is being withheld until a warrant is approved.
