This Friday winds up three weeks of Kids Day Camps at The Grist Mill in Keremeos.
The first two-week long 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. camp saw Lower Similkameen Community Services team up with Dragonfly Learning with support from Cawston Cold Storage, The Children’s Foundation of the South Okanagan, Matheson and Grove Art and Music Gallery in Penticton and The Keremeos Grist Mill.
Eighteen youngsters won bursaries to attend the camps for free. Week one was for 9 to 12 year olds and week two was for 5 to 8 years olds.
This week Lower Similkameen Community Services team up with Bob MacAtamney and Su Wolfe of The Cawston Players to produce The Lorax with a company of 7 to 12 year olds and their teen helpers. This camp runs from 9 a.m. to noon August 20-24.
There will be one performance of The Lorax by Dr. Seuss at 11:30 a.m. Friday August 24th at The Grist Mill with no evening performance as previously planned.
Dragonfly Learning now works to secure funding to offer future all day summer camps as well as kids programs happening throughout the year in the Lower Similkameen.
