Keremeos Citizens on Patrol meeting April 16

RCMP and volunteers in the community are working to restart Citizens on Patrol

A meeting for those interested in restarting Citizens on Patrol will be held April 16.

Citizens on Patrol is a volunteer group that patrols the community on evenings during the weekend.

“Volunteers would be tasked with completing nighttime patrols and would assist police with ensuring public safety by providing additional eyes and ears on the ground. Interested parties would need to complete a criminal record check and while the positions are unpaid, reimbursement for the cost of fuel would be provided,” a release stated.

The Keremeos RCMP detachment has schedule a public meeting Tues., April 16 at 7 p.m. at the Legion hall (Upper Floor) – 510 Veterans Avenue.
