Already serving a life sentence for killing his wife, Traigo Andretti is now facing a second murder charge.

The former Hanson Island caretaker was charged with second degree murder last week in the death of 37-year-old Myrna Letandre.

The two were apparently acquainted when they lived in Winnipeg, but she went missing in 2006.

Her remains were found buried in the foundation of a Winnipeg rooming house and were only found in May 2013 after police received information during their investigation of Andretti.

Sometime around April 29, 2013, Andretti killed his wife Jennifer McPherson, 41, dismembered her body and scattered her remains around Hanson Island, located north of Campbell River in Johnstone Strait.

He was arrested a few days later and admitted the killing to police. Last month, Andretti, 38, formally pleaded guilty to first degree murder and was sentenced to life in prison with no chance of parole for at least 25 years.
